Author Marissa E. James

My love for reading began at a young age. I loved escaping from reality and immersing myself in an all-new world with wonderfully crafted characters. I soon realized that writing came quickly to me, whether it was essays, short stories, or a full-length novel. I began my writing journey with much encouragement from my English teachers and amazing parents.

At sixteen, I started writing on Wattpad. I started writing fanfics and romance and soon transitioned to fantasy and sci-fi. This is where I found my love for fantasy. In college, my confidence grew as I learned more about English literature and different story-writing methods. In 2020, I started writing my current story, carefully crafting my world so people will enjoy it.

My goal is to inspire people to continue writing their stories, to help them understand that their story matters and that we would love to read it, just as authors like Tomi Adeyemi, Tracy Deonn, George R.R. Martin, Carissa Broadbent, etc. have done for me. I want to inspire people and create a safe place for them to write.
