Zelena Ryveriam has one duty in life: to protect her family and kingdom, Parath. But Zelena feels uneasy when the Queen announces that preparations for Qoro de Arim have begun. Soon, the six kingdoms will be at her doorstep. She is excited about a new beginning but is on guard around the other kingdoms to keep her kingdom safe. 

Arik Graebane, Prince of Maldova, has never been outside his kingdom's walls. As his kingdom travels to Parath to celebrate the new queen, he is ecstatic to see what the world offers. However, he learns he must follow Zelena around the kingdom to explore and closely monitor things around them.

As the weeks go by and Qoro de Arim draws near, people start to disappear and turn up murdered. Zelena is tasked with finding the person responsible before the final day of Qoro de Arim, all the while showing the prince around and keeping him at arm’s length.
